From Shadows to Spotlight: Dylan and Dakota Gonzalez on Overcoming NCAA Challenges, Embracing Music careers, Faith & more

Two dynamic twin sisters, Dylan and Dakota Gonzalez, first gained national attention as standout basketball players, celebrated for their athleticism and charisma. They had the world of basketball in a chokehold ever since they attended high school back in Idaho. The pair were named Co-Players of the Year during their freshman season before beginning their collegiate careers at Kansas University soon transferring to the University of Las Vegas Nevada. Unfortunately the ladies had to forfeit their final season to pursue their musical careers. Despite portraying a beautiful life to the public; playing basketball at D1 colleges, having celebrities such as world famous rapper Drake attending their games, becoming social media influencers, and being offered to play on WNBA teams, these ladies received immense backlash not many knew about, all in attempt to chase their dreams.

Not only do Dylan and Dakota possess incredible talent on the court but they have some serious vocal range on the mic. The NCAA did not allow the ladies to pursue their musical careers while playing in the organization, resulting in only allowing them perform the National Anthem during games. With the twins taking their talents from the court to the studio, they found purpose. Creating music opened up a journey to both healing and peace as well as inspiring the youth coming up. “We’re real people, with pure hearts, and powerful testimonies; extending the love we have to the world,” says Dylan. Do not put these ladies in a box as you will only find yourself in a slum of regret. “We put the T in TREND and the WIN in Twin,” Dakota declares. Their journey from collegiate basketball stars to multifaceted entertainers and entrepreneurs showcases their ability to transcend boundaries and inspire a new generation of change-makers.

The Twin phenoms who changed the game forever.
